3.5Abbott is a well-established company in the pharmaceutical and nutrition industry. There is significant opportunity in the global market. The domestic U.S. market is well-developed and very competitive from an employment perspective. Competitors seem to consistently outspend Abbott in multiple channels.
4.2I completed my last contract software quality engineering opportunity for Abbott Neuromodulation in Plano in August. This was my second tour at the facility having served in an identical role before St. Jude was acquired by Abbott. I found that the organization is still struggling to overcome many of the entrenched weaknesses that resulted in the FDA Warning Letter. Their processes could and should be better integrated and their procedures, likewise better codified. Additionally, a pervasive culture of lax compliance with regulatory requirements and internal directives would benefit from more effective change agents.
