A.B. Dick Overview

A.B. Dick was a Chicago-based copy machine manufacturer, and an innovator in the quick printing mimeograph technology that was used by many shops until xerography became the standard. The mimeograph machine had been one of Thomas Edison's very first inventions. Dick improved upon Edison's methods for creating stencils, and began designing flatbed duplicator machines. He introduced the Model 0 Flatbed Duplicator in 1887 and coined the term "mimeograph machine" to describe it.
