A Place For Mom Employee

"I have been working at A Place For Mom as a Senior Director of Sales Operations for a year. While the salary and benefits are decent, the work culture can be stressful at times. However, the company does offer some opportunities for growth and learning."

"There's plenty of better companies to work for who will value you. Unfortunately, APFM is not one of them. The senior manager has routinely gaslit, manipulated, and shut down her own team. No matter what you do, no matter how HARD you work, if you play THEIR game, you're rewarded. Don't allow these people to take your power. Work somewhere else, and ditch this company. Dont let yourself get exploited, work for what you are worth and don't settle for less. The best and brightest at this company are no longer there. They took matters into their own hands, and got out. The people who were left -- the ones who should not be at the company still, because anywhere else they would have been fired- are the ones you're unfortunately stuck with. The senior manager in my department is an incompetent, socially unaware mean girl with a title. She overshares about her private life (no one asked for these details mind you) and doesn't understand what a "direct' question is. But somehow, she thinks she's an expert at her job? Mind you, this woman has proudly boasted that she receives child support via Paypal UNDER the table. She's committed micro-aggressions that have made her team uncomfortable such as asking a theme of a team-building game during Black History Month be "our favorite black person" EXCUSE ME? Of course she won't ever be accountable for her behavior. She doesn't need to, she's very good at playing the victim and making herself seem harmless- she's not. And everyone who work with her knows this. She'll probably get another promotion in the next year and the sad thing is- there were more qualified people at this company who deserved it than her. Don't try and report her or the Senior Director will scold you and gaslight you as well. Just quit and if you're a prospective employee, DO NOT WORK HERE. Please save yourself the PTSD and trauma,"

"I have worked for A Place for Mom for 8 months.I have enjoyed my time with this company and I believe that others would feel the same ways. The company is going through a major restructure at the moment which is causes a few internal issues. They strive to be the best in the business and this restructure is necessary for their goals."

"Please do not be fooled by the promises. You will be micromanaged to death, forced to work unpaid overtime, unable to take your PTO and the leads are awful. You will need to be chained to your desk for 10 hours a day just to make quota, and you will be forced to call numerous people who are sick and tired of hearing from you. The pay is minimal and you will work for about $12 an hour due to unpaid overtime. Seek other employment as this company has acquired a bad reputation from the people they help and the facilities they serve!"

"I've worked for APFM for 2.5 years. It started off as a fun place to work, but has gone steadily downhill. I'm not sure if it's the new owners or just inept management, but the environment has gotten toxic. Everyone is scared for their jobs, since the company just keeps laying off more and more people in every department other than sales. Management keeps telling us the business is going great, but the layoffs seem to say the opposite. All the talented people seem to be finding jobs elsewhere, which is never a great sign."

"I had just about the same experience as my friend who is posting on this site right now. Don't believe anything the management tells you when they are interviewing you. The pay is pitiful, and the way they treat their staff is horrendous."

"Terrible place to work. I calculated I earned about $12 an hour as an advisor for this company. Their recruiter said I would be earning in the $85K range a year or more. They expected me to work overtime but they didn't compensate me for the extra work."
