"The good old boys go fishing and hunting together. If you don't look or talk like them, you're out!! Inconsistent!!"

"Get managers who are managers, not engineers trying to manage people. HR managers who are not just thinking where their next stop is going to be, and actually care about the people. Same goes for mill mgrs."

"Upper management at Federal Way seems paralyzed to doing anything positive. The upper management seems to not have a clue to what is happening on the manufacturing plant floor. Most if not all the current upper management have never worked a day in a manufacturing plant."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"All of you resign and let the board start over. When the Willamette chairman, Steve Rogle took over as chairman of Weyerhaeuser some bureaucrats were eliminated. If two or more VP ever appeared at a plant at the same time, the general consensus was that the plant would be shut down at some time. More decisive decesion making should be transferred to the Plant Manager's hands to eliminate excessive costs."

"not much...sometimes communication wasn't the greatest."

"no training, very little chance for advancment"

"poorly managed, step in to the real world, management appears to panic instead of lead"

"I liked the people and the respect. I also learned a lot from people in other groups that I worked with."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It was a great place to work. Very relaxed. Dress nice for your interview even though you will be very over dressed for the job. Be friendly and open to talk with your new manager. I had a phone interview and was hired 2 or 3 hours later."

What don't you like about working at Weyerhaeuser?

"I didn't like that it was only a temporary job. My manager wanted to keep me but wasn't able to hire me full time at the moment. If I waiting for the next project, I would have been with out a job for 3 months. I left when I found a full time position."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"You should fire people (contract, or not) if they do not do there job. Being nice and keeping people that are always missing, or work incredibly slow with only make you look bad and hurts the company."
