"Sad successor to the A. G. Edwards legacy."

What do you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"I did like the stability of the job when it was AGE, but as soon as Wachovia got a hold of our company and our assets, it went downhill quickly."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Try everywhere else you can before going here, but if you have to apply here, go ahead, but don't trust them in much of anything, even if they put it in writing."

What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"I disliked the fact that they lied to all of us about retaining us and our jobs, not to mention the functions that we supported. Then when it became simple to use us as cost-cutting items, we were gone, even though we'd been promised we would be mapped into the new combined company"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop destroying and dismantling the company you supposedly merge with once you get their financial resources. And tell people FROM THE BEGINNING that you intend to wipe out their functions and entire departments, so there are no false hopes built up. People HATE being lied to about jobs!!"

"Don't chop up companies you buy up when they work!"

What do you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"I did like to work there until they wiped out our entire group and most of our department, but people (employees) don't matter to this place any more than any other financial company, especially if it involves a company they were able to buy up at bargain prices because of another company's (Wachovia) decisions."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't go into the IT divisions, as there will be no job security for you at all, no matter how hard or how well you work, even for ten or fifteen years or more. This place is absolutely no different from any other firm out there, who at the slightest downturn in business, will not hesitate to cut IT jobs first."

What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"I dislike the fact that we're wiping out jobs here from companies they snatched up at bargain prices. But, again, I can't blame Wells Fargo, as it was a shrewd business deal, given the fact that Wachovia destroyed a good company, A. G. Edwards, by its own incompetence, then left it open to be bought up."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Try to keep basic personnel levels intact if you think the businesses you buy up are so valuable. But again, it's NOT really Wells Fargo who destroyed AGE, it was Wachovia who did that; then they went to get rescued from their bad business practices, and Wells Fargo simply made a good deal for their company."
