"Suntrust is going through a Merger of equals with another big bank. Pending the culture remains the same, it will be a great company to work for. They probably won't be hiring until next year, after the merger is complete."
"Remember the ad from when you where a kid - "just say no"? Just like that.."
"SunTrust was an awesome employer. Excellent management and work environment. I was also provided many opportunities for training and advancement."
"SunTrust Bank is an okay place to work but not if you want to advance your career"
"SunTrust is a company that aligns purpose and passion. The organization is currently undergoing loads of change but you can tell they care for their people. Diversity efforts, Technology and Processes need updating-- so hopefully this becomes a priority in the near future."
"SunTrust is changing the banking industry to be customer-focused and help their customers and the people who work there to live their best lives! It's a great place to learn and hone your skills in an environment where everyone will cheer your success and coach you through your weakness"
"Company is laying off 25 very experienced people and shipping their jobs to India for cheaper labor after just receiving a massive tax cut from our government. Management is also making the staff train the India staff before laying them off. This is the most disgusting thing a company can do to their employees. They say they care about their staff and their customers, but it's all about the numbers and making sure they get their budget cutting bonuses. Stay clear of this company."
"I am an employee that is losing his job due to SunTrust Mortgage sending my job to India. When I ask why, I was told it was due to "cheaper labor". We still have companies out here despite getting a massive tax break, still shipping American jobs to India for cheaper labor. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH SUNTRUST BANK OR SUNTRUST MORTGAGE. They are greedy and do not really care about their customers or employees. Is all about their numbers and nothing else."
"I worked for SunTrust longer than any employer. For many years it was like working for a family. I personally brought on some of their largest clients and for many years I was rewarded for my efforts. I wanted to retire from SunTrust. Unfortunately things changed a couple of years ago. Upper management decided to replace nearly all of the managers with investment bankers, who know absolutely nothing about the groups they are managing. The remaining people I worked with here are fantastic, but morale is in a downward spiral. I feel so sorry for what this place used to be. I was the top performer in my group here when I left, so this is no sour grapes. I am excited to be joining a great new group of people, but I feel sorry for the teammates I left behind."
"Working at SunTrust Mortgage was great!"
"I've worked in Sun Trust Bank. I liked to work with Sun Trust Bank. It was very friendly environment."
"I've worked for SunTrust for 6 years and 3 mos and have made several strides on various projects. The opportunities I was afforded helped propel my career. While the systems used to complete the work were challenging the company made great progress and was moving fast to update systems conducive to success. My immediate supervisor was the epitome of a model member of management and supported her employees. The company's potential is great and with necessary changes I anticipate great things for this company."
"It's a great company to work, and all the coworkers are talented personnel and very respectful."
"Suntrust Banks upper management is the most unknowledgeable senior management that I have ever seen at any other company large or small in the past 20 years of my career."
"I've worked with SunTrust for almost 3 years. It's a bank, so they're pretty cheap. Overall, it's a cushy job, but expectations vary wildly for people in similar positions, so advancement isn't handled fairly. It's almost impossible to get a stellar performance review, even if you literally wrote the development best-practices. Best advice: Get a really good offer going in, because you won't be getting good raises."
