Restoration Hardware Employee

"The company pays the lowest possible while they are making millions. They should be able to pay more to us the employees who get their furniture shop out in the warehouse. it’s physically hard work not for everybody. A lot of good workers have left for better pay and opportunities because they will not get it at restoration hardware. They love to preach core values about the right people and it starts with them it’s all smoke and mirrors to fool people. They don’t care about the employees one bit especially with everything going up in price the pay is not enough to survive. Sad because other warehouses pay more around they are the lowest one in the area."

What do you like about working at Restoration Hardware?

"For a retail job it was good. However, they dangle growth opportunities in front of you but, never really support or try to hlep you obtain growth. Where you are hired is where you will stay. That aside the job was fun and I enjoyed my job and the work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It is a good company and the compensation is great. But be aware that while they do sometimes promote assistants to store managers and Store managers to District managers, for the most part the level you were hired in at is where you will be 5 years later. Even with being proactive and vocal about wanting to move up. So, be content with the position you are being interviewed for."

What don't you like about working at Restoration Hardware?

"Again the entire time I was there they promised growth into the regional jobs but, never told me positions were open. The management seemed content to hire from outside and keep you at the level you were brought in at. They talked about development but, never seemed to actually help you develop your job into a career."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Develop your team."
