"The ability to do my own research. Working with professors and other students."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Well, first, it depends if you are a student, which I am, or staff. If a student, be ready to be aggressive with your advisor in order to get their attention and keep them thinking about you."

What don't you like about working at UC Berkeley?

"Professors are too focused on their own bottom line to assist with careerbuilding of others. Many only help when they have time..and they only have time if it is on their list of 'have to do's from the graduate division."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would create mentorship programs with a focus on collaborative work between students and professors."

"Flexible hours, freedom to pursue independent projects, and the ability to work while at school."

"Don't worry about the work-study jobs, they are not too difficult."

"The lack of clear focus, despite the position, sometimes led to apathy for the work."
