"I began at E Systems which later was swallowed up by Raytheon. I wrote sw code for a spread spectrum communication system. The sw language was C/C++. I initially enjoyed my position there. I wore many hats there. I was an adaptable engineer. Over the years it became too bureaucratic. But I survived."

"People are pleasant to work with. It's a friendly environment."

"Be yourself and don't over-sell your capabilities. Ask lots of questions related to the company."

What don't you like about working at Raytheon?

"The inter-office politics get to be too much to handle sometimes."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would require the managers to work with their employees as opposed to directing the peons from a throne."

"It is difficult to share knowledge from past experience outside of the company."

"Because of a matrix organization, Managers should have a more hands on approach to projects."

"There were many technical challenges that kept the job interesting."

"I don not have any information that can help someone else interview at this company because I was hired years ago and they have changed the hiring process."

"No future because the management can not seen to win new contracts."

"Be more aggressive and search out other industries that we can provide service for."

"Initially I was drawn to the opportunity to learn and build my knowledge of radar and the defense sector."

"No, not really. Just be yourself, and be open and honest."

What don't you like about working at Raytheon?

"The defense sector is dying, there is minimal, if any, money available for development work. Everything is now mostly contract sustainment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be proactive in finding your teams ability to find tasking to avoid the charging of overhead budget from departments which thereby lowers educational budgets"
