The company is headquartered in Sussex, Wisconsin, and owns about forty printing facilities throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America. In 2010, Quad acquired one of its competitors, World Color Press. That acquisition added approximately 28,000 new employees. This allowed the company to become the world’s second-largest printer in the Western Hemisphere. In 2010, Quad/Graphics further solidified its dominance in the industry by acquiring HGI Company.

In July 2011, Quad expanded internationally through an asset swap with Transcontinental Inc. That allowed Quad to acquire Transcontinental’s assets in Mexico and the company’s black and white book printing services. In exchange, Transcontinental received seven of Quad’s facilities in Canada. Today, the company employs approximately 28,000 people. In 2010, the company reported annual revenues of about $4.8 billion.
