"We are doing so many amazing things and you are not passive bystanders…you are shoveling coal into the engine room of the locomotive! Seriously! LET ME BLOW YOUR MIND WITH OUR AWESOMENESS! During the last 18 months we have: * Implemented a Kindle Collection that has more devices than the Salt Lake City Public Library available for checkout and we actually let people take them home...The Kindle accounted for the equivalent of approximately 20,000 checkouts within 3 months (There is a direct correlation in our circulation statistics). We started checking out GoPros to the Public…now we have 9 GoPros available. * Implemented Lynda.com and can support 50 simultaneous users…THAT CAN DO IT AT HOME! The Salt Lake City Library offers 50 seats and they implemented AFTER us. We were the third in the nation. (Oh yeah, USU offers 2-3 Kiosk stations for Lynda.com for about 20,000 students...) * We had 198 programs FY2014 and 13,458 people attended…Logan had 600 programs and 12,139 people attended. DID YOU READ THAT?! Logan had 400 more programs and we had more people attend... We had over 230,000 people visit the Library…Logan 250,000 - Logan only has “officially” 40,000 more people eligible for Library cards and is only open 16 hours/week more than North Logan…250K vs. 230K. Of about 8,500 residents, North Logan has over 6,000 Card holders... Our programs are AMAZING! Really, take a look at our programs compared to most other libraries... Our programs were run by Library Clerks and Pages... the Pillar of Awesomeness! Can anyone on staff name everything? Nope? Right there is even more hiding in plain sight. Summer Sketch Club! Three sections of 20 kids filled up to capacity in 24 hours…Hannah is Amazing! Summer Reading & the Kick-Off Party... H2O Water Fights and the Fire Department... FY2014 had 9 Teen programs and 56 Teens attend…It took Paul maybe 4 weeks to eclipse the previous standard and now the Teen program is among the most successful in Utah... Nerf Guns... the list continues."
