NAMSA Employee

"I worked for NAMSA for over a year, and in that time, I found it to have an extremely high rate of turnover. Employees are given more work than any one person can handle, while reporting to supervisors who look for convenient scapegoats when something doesn't work out. When one reports lessons learned from problems seen on the job, they are dismissed. Nepotism is rampant and morale low. I do not recommend this employer."

Director of Global Business Development

"NAMSA is a family owned business with a verbal commitment of 20% growth YOY, however we are extremely conservative in our investments to achieve those targets. I'm a fast moving teammate in an environment that doesn't really want to move. Wonderful, smart people who love delighting clients and are some of the best in the industry. However our scientific nature lacks sales and marketing commitments, which makes a long term tenure challenging for a guy like me."

What do you like about working at NAMSA?

"Great people, multiple cultures, languages, perspectives. Learning 26 countries' worth of equipment and a dozen countries who were not even part of NATO. Always coming up with a unique solution for every mission."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"NATO is about relationship building first. Don't go into it thinking you are the expert in your field. Chances are there are smarter people in the organization who just don't get heard."

What don't you like about working at NAMSA?

"Laissez-faire attitude. Contractors who took so long on delivering equipment it was obsolete before it was delivered and then we have to pay for it. That was ridiculous!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Adopt the agile design system when commissioning equipment, to ensure that it can do the job it was requested to do, so that you get a working prototype in time to do something useful with it."
