"On-Call at Macy's sucks."

What do you like about working at Macy's?

"Some of the people I worked with were nice people."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Only do it if you're okay with peddling credit cards, and pushing more expensive items to customers. Also, if you really love being a competitive customer stealing jerk."

What don't you like about working at Macy's?

"There are individual sales goals whether you work commission or not. This causes people in nearby areas to steal your customers. It causes people in your area/department to compete for customers. It encourages people to be annoying to guests/customers. The star reward card requirements are also tough. If the sales and credit card goals were done by department/areas we as a team would've made that goal every time. Individuals, however, often missed their goals because some co-workers are just more shark-like than others."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Learn to recognize when your employees are doing something right. You only talk to them when they're doing something wrong, but never reinforcing the positive things they do."
