"I've worked here for 3 weeks and have had 4 shifts! The hours are terrible and the management is unprofessional. They have a very specific dress code but didn't specify what it was before my first shift. Then they kicked me out on day 1 for not having the right dress code. I couldn't return till I found the right clothes. My coworkers did a very good job training me and there were training meals to test the menu which was cool. However, I've worked there for 3 weeks and still haven't finished training because I get 2 shifts a week or less"

"I've worked for Darden Restaurants on and off for about 5 years. The company itself seems well run and understands how to produce a good company image and product. Outside of what the corporate end of the company wants to accomplish they don't seem to care much for improving anything for the bottom end of things. What I mean by this is that there are many things that could easily be improved, but aren't."

"Great food, friendly coworkers, but poor management, and less than adequate pay."

What do you like about working at LongHorn Steakhouse?

"I enjoy working with my coworkers, the quality of food is great, and the cleanliness of the restaurant is a plus."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you're interested in this job for the money, I wouldn't bother unless you strictly work weekends."

What don't you like about working at LongHorn Steakhouse?

"Management is beyond unprofessional, showing a lack of genuine respect and favoritism among the staff. The restaurant design is poor, guests get sticker shock and the server pays for it. Slim chances for advancement or improvement in position or compensation. Scheduling is terrible. Management struggles with understanding the concept of slow vs. steady days, and employees end up fighting for the prime shifts just to make money that is worth the work. Too much side work! Half of the shift is spent cleaning, stocking, and rolling silverware."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Higher expectations from management, reward/praise employees for exceptional work, better scheduling methods, lower the amount of side work each shift."
