"This was a federal work study program, so it was very structured in regards to what could be done, and not be done. There was little or no flexibility for the supervisor because of this fact. I was successful in the position and the majority of the students that I tutored all elevated their GPA and all passed the courses. My coworkers relied on me to not only tutor in fields that they did not fee comfortable, but would often ask me to be a second opinion assist with their students."

"It is a great job for the pay, if that is enough for what you need. Don't look for a promotion unless you are truly confident because you will have to perform at a higher level which means more stress."

What don't you like about working at Kaplan University?

"The morale was often low as many thought that the minimum performace expectations were too high. There was always a fear of layoffs and the future of the company was unsure."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Create a better connection between marketing efforts and final sales required outcomes. Delegate authority to mid level departments to problem solve instead of thinking the executive level has all the answers."

"crowding of the offices leaving small tight work space, this was the only down side"

"I don't have any suggestions for management at this time since I'm not currently there"

"Kaplan provided an excellent working environment for me and my coworkers to work in a team environment to assist students with fulfilling their educational dreams. I had a great experience working during my tenure. The people I served as well as the people I worked with were wonderful."

"A high level of competence and work ethic as well as a driven personality would serve one well while working at Kaplan."

What don't you like about working at Kaplan University?

"After giving this question a lot of thought there was not really anything I didn't like about my experience with Kaplan. However, if required to come up with something I might change if able, it would probably be that the campus was spread out over multiple stories which was inconvenient at times."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"While meetings are a useful tool in sharing information between departments, they should not interfere with daily duties on a regular basis. So in making a recommendation for improvements, I would consider cutting back on some of the daily management meetings and utilize email and IM more."
