"I am not making 39,676 a yr. A flight attendants salary is not based on 40 hr work week. It's based on 75-80 hrs a month... that is 1627.20 a month plus per diem about 100-700.00 extra depending on how many hours you work. Keep in mind deductions... medical, dental, union dues, uniforms. These figures are based on the 2nd yr. My 1st yr was much lower...1305... a month... of course you can work more hours, but it's hard to maintain 100 hrs or more every month (just to survive). It's a major decision to become a flight attendant. If you do not have a husband, or live with your parents... you will be barely surviving your 1st 5 yrs. Remember you will be on reserve for yrs depending on the airline... and more than likely held to that monthly guarantee of 75-80 hrs a month."
