JOB SUMMARY: This position provides coordination for the Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing (RN-to-BSN) program, currently fully online. The coordinator will also assist with recruitment and marketing of the program, advising, student orientation, collection and dissemination of evaluation data in consultation with nursing faculty, coordinated program growth, student support, and retention. This position will facilitate community partnerships and outreach. The coordinator will have Administrative Professional status and report to the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as primary contact for students enrolled in the programs to field questions, concerns, and feedback and facilitate answers, solutions, and student success.
  • Provide student advising for prospective and current students.
  • Participate with admission and marketing staff to develop partnerships and networks in local and regional health care communities to facilitate student recruitment and success for graduates of the programs.
  • Continue to foster community partnerships and solicit input from the partners and work with faculty on proposed curriculum modifications.
  • Collect and disseminate evaluation data on the program and work with faculty on summary data to make proposed curriculum modifications.
  • Work with admissions and community partnerships on recruitment and outreach strategies.
  • Serve as ex officio member on RN-to-BSN committee.
  • Lead contact for our AND-to-BSN concurrent partners.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with HHS and SVSU admissions and student success programs.
  • Work with various SVSU departments to help streamline transfer student admission process, and seek feedback from community partners on student educational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Health-related Profession.
  • Outstanding customer service skills to provide support to the non-traditional student population and nurture growth in the RN-to-BSN program and the concurrent AND-to-BSN program.
  • Experience with program administration, leadership, and development.
  • Collaboration with State of Michigan community colleges, legislative leadership, academic leaders, and practice partners may be required.
  • Ability to utilize Windows-based software including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, along with a wide range of instructional technology tools and resources. Experience utilizing email for the purposes of organizational communications. Listening skills and the ability to speak and write clearly are essential to the position.
  • Experience and ability to positively interact with a diverse campus community.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties are generally performed inside but include outside seasonal activities.
