Summary of position:
The Early Intervention Teacher will ensure the implementation of the delivery of Early Intervention services through the management of a child caseload by: providing direct services and consultative support to eligible children, supporting children attending Early Care and Education community environments, and/or supporting children in Early Intervention specialized classrooms

Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details):

  • Implement the Individualized Education Plans for all eligible children assigned to the caseload by providing appropriate instruction in IEP content, monitoring individual child progress, adjusting instruction based on progress monitoring information, and referring children as additional needs are identified.
  • Establish a positive educational environment for children through direct operation of a BCIU specialized classroom or group, and through support to community early care and education settings and home environments.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with parents, teachers, professionals, administration, and community agencies in Berks County.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and/or Early Childhood Education or a related area (e.g. psychology, speech language therapy)
  • Pennsylvania certification in Special Education and/or Early Childhood Education.
  • Experience in special education and early childhood settings preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with administrative, professional, and non-professional staff.
Schedule:
Full-time, 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 35 hours/week, stretch calendar

Salary:
Established per BCIUEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
