Hourly pay: $6.25 + tips

Overview: Performs all hands on duties of banquet staff in addition to delegating duties to banquet staff during service events working directly with them on the floor. Assist in set up, service and teardown of events and meetings according to banquet event orders (BEO). Acts as a liaison between the client and other operating departments during the function and may consult with PIC or host/hostess of the function. Reports to the F&B Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all Banquet Server 1 duties.
  • Ensures staff follow company service standards.
  • Communicates with guests during event to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Delegates duties to members of the serving staff during the event.
  • Ensures events move forward and remain on time to BEO.
  • Works with staff to ensure that set up/tear down are according to BEOs.
  • Cleans during banquet functions and areas to include linen, china, glassware, table tops, bar set up, storeroom, etc.
  • Coordinates food & beverage service during banquet functions.
  • Communicates with clients, Event Management, kitchen and other resort staff handling situations as they arise.
  • Performs administrative duties that include: processing banquet checks, captain's reports, BEO changes, inventory ordering
  • Trains staff as needed in accordance to Kingsmill service standards for area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management team.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 of age
  • 2+ years hotel banquet experience required
  • High school diploma/GED required with college degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong reading skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, beer and styles of service such as plated, buffet, family style, receptions, etc.
  • Knowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor laws
  • Food Handlers Card required (certification available through the county and on line). Must have within 30 days from hire
  • TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification required (available through Kingsmill within 30 days from hire)
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to lift loaded food tray above shoulder (10 dinners)
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, bend at the waist and perform repetitive hand, wrist and foot action for 8 hour shift indoors/outside in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability work days, nights, weekends, holidays
