Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager


As Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will have significant individual responsibilities and manage an engineering/technician team of 3-5 employees. This role will involve a range of responsibilities including but not limited to providing technical and engineering support for manufacturing, supply chain, quality and regulatory. You will own and drive process improvement including automation; executing changes, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including Workflow design, yield improvement, waste reduction, cost reduction, time and motion efficiency studies. The position is on-site in Redmond, Washington.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and drive new product launch into production from manufacturing engineering standpoint by creating and validating all process related documentations.
  • Develop, execute, and document IQ, OQ, PQ and maintenance protocols for new equipment and fixtures, and verification and validation for equipment, processes, including cleaning, packaging, sterilization.
  • Develop test equipment and methods for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices and systems; develop and maintain production assembly, test, and inspection procedures through product life cycle.
  • Determine training and certification requirements for assemblers and technicians for production processes and equipment.
  • Provide product failure analysis support for customer complaints and returns. Create and maintain Product and Process FMECA through product life, risk management.
  • Lead and/or participate in Material Review Board to evaluate and disposition discrepant material, conduct failure root cause analysis, develop rework and repair methods, identify and document corrective and preventative action.



Requirements:


  • BSME with 6+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing
  • Lean 6 sigma process improvement concepts
  • Approved experience with phase/gate review of new design and launch into production
  • Solid understanding and experience with data analysis, KPIs
  • Proven people management skills and experience
  • Certified Project Management
  • Certified SolidWorks Associate or 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of design change requirements and processes in FDA regulated manufacturing environment
  • Automation line and process
  • Microsoft Office applications, Excel power user



Desirable Skills and Experience:


  • Lean manufacturing process implementation or support
  • Experience with contract manufacturing and project transfer
  • Experience with metal machining, plastic injection molding, and fabrication and finishing methods and equipment; mechanical specification using GD&T
  • Swiss watch or jewelry manufacturing industry with insights into small tools, equipment, techniques; experience with color anodizing, electropolishing, chemical etching, laser etching
  • Clean room, aqueous cleaning, and sterilization qualification and monitoring



Salary range for this position is $120k-$160k per year which is the general base range for a successful candidate in the State of Washington. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors such as skills, qualifications and experience.
