Position Overview:

You will play a pivotal role in managing and mitigating risk across our projects and operations. You will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of risk management including Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), pre-qualification processes, insurance program management, and ensuring compliance with insurance requirements for all new jobs. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in risk management within the construction industry or insurance sector, with demonstrated experience in managing insurance programs and claims.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Update Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Systems: Continuously update and maintain our ERM systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data management related to risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Be an active participant and contributor to the internal risk management committee.
  • Pre-Qualification Processes: Oversee the pre-qualification process for subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with risk management standards and requirements.
  • Insurance Program Management: Manage the company's insurance programs, including but not limited to general liability, workers' compensation, and other relevant policies. Ensure adequacy of coverage and negotiate terms with insurance providers.
  • Review Insurance Requirements: Review and analyze insurance requirements for all new projects to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
  • Builders' Risk Policy Management: Oversee Builders' Risk policies to ensure they adequately protect the company's interests and assets.
  • Risk Management Education: Identify and manage any gaps in professional skills and experiences related to risk management, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Claims Management: Manage insurance claims effectively and efficiently, working closely with insurers and legal teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • EMR Management: Collaborate with Safety Department, Workers Compensation, and Operations program to effectively aid in management of EMR and other Safety metrics
  • Coordinating Project Insurance Requirements: Coordinate project insurance requirements, including:
  • Controlled Insurance Programs (Owner or Contractor) (XCIP) ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and risk management protocols.
  • Reviewing with project teams, subcontractor insurance requirements
  • Revising project specific insurance requirements in concert with Owner Contract requirements, as needed.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry or insurance sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management principles and practices, with a strong understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in ERM systems and data management tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ARM, CRM) are a plus.

Compensation:

In addition to offering competitive base pay (target is $120,000 - 135,000), Catamount employees are eligible for profit sharing, incentives for merit/performance, project incentives, new hire referral bonuses, and business development commissions.
