Nurse Practitioner

ACC 72nd Street Clinic

Full-Time

Mon-Friday 8a-4p

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with training in both the nursing model and medical model of care. Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) NPs are committed to personalized, high-quality healthcare and are held to the same legal and ethical standards of care as physicians and surgeons. The NP in the ACC works collaboratively in the assessment and overall screening of patients, helps to expedite throughput, and optimize patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. Autonomously and in concert with other healthcare professionals, the NP provides a full range of primary, acute, and specialty services, including:

  • Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, infections, and injuries
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays
  • Prescribing medications and other treatments
  • Managing patients' overall care
  • Triage and prioritize care
  • Counseling and ongoing communication
  • Educating patients on disease prevention and positive health and lifestyle choices
  • Providing referrals for services and specialties
  • Completing peer to peer authorizations as needed

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Training

  • MSN
  • Current NYS NP license
  • BLS/ACLS
  • Board Certification

Experience:

  • 2 years clinical practice experience as a NP required (e.g., hospital setting, alternative care setting such as home health or ambulatory care required)
  • Case management and discharge planning experience preferred
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Orthopedic terminology
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and Good Technology Practice
  • Experience with Epic

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $140,662.45/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $161,662.45/Yr.
