Advance Practice Provider (NP/PA)

Full-Time

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 14 years, is currently looking for an experienced and energetic Full Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

The Department of Neurology is seeking a full-time Advance Practice Provider to provide expert, compassionate, and prompt care to patients with mobility disorders, such as Parkinson's disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), dystonia, tremors, etc.

Your role is essential to promoting a professional atmosphere through courteous communication, cooperation and respect for patients, visitors and members of the healthcare team. In addition, you will be responsible for upholding stellar customer service practices for patients and families, as well as acting as a liaison to the physician and hospital departments.

Competencies/Duties:

  • Provide clinical consultation, assessment, and management to patients.
  • Conduct outpatient evaluation, treatment and follow-up of patients as directed by the supervising physician.
  • Review/interpret patient imaging and lab results; communicate results to patients and provide follow-up treatment and education.
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately when educating patient/family in regard to their medical condition and/or hospital course.
  • Document progress patient has made toward desired outcomes.
  • Utilize the computerized order communication system, including transcription of medical orders, retrieval of test results and documentation of results.
  • Maintain clear and legible history and physical documentation and all other written reports.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Complete any relevant patient paperwork such as medication prior authorizations, plan of care, etc.
  • Promote cooperation through teamwork.
  • Other duties as needed for effective and safe patient care.

Position Highlights:

Hours: Monday-Friday (no weekends/no call)

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Nurse Practitioner:

MSN from accredited school of nursing

NP/RN NYS licensure

ANCC board certification

BLS/ACLS via AHA

Physician Assistant:

BS or MS in Physician Studies from an accredited program

NCCPA certification

NYS PA Licensure

BLS/ACLS via AHA

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience as an NP/PA in neurology.

Candidates must have current Infection Control Certification and have completed a child abuse recognition course. The APP must have excellent communication skills and be a team player. It is essential that the candidate possess strong clinical skills.

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $132,314.00/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $154,964.00/Yr.
