SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for following all proper safety procedures and policies.
Responsible for the setup and production of the end sheet combining operations including maintenance, housekeeping, adherence to quality and production standards, schedules, and customer specifications. Has overall responsibility to oversee and direct the safety, quality, and production activities of any assigned crew. Overtime as business needs dictate, Wage consideration for previous experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for following and ensuring that any assigned crew members are in compliance with applicable safety procedures.
Responsible for the set up and running of the machine according to the job order, customer and bindery quality specifications while meeting established production standards.
Monitors quality by continuously monitoring endsheet width and length and backspace width to job order specs, correct glue application, endsheet material used matches job order request, wrinkling of endsheets or stretch paper and count verification.
Monitors and controls waste by assuring all production issues are promptly addressed, that all repairable endsheets, material and other components are used and that machine setup is done with minimal product loss.
Maintains proper records including electronic machine reports, electronic finished job and shortage reports, online job orders, job folders and machine PM records and checklists as required.
Assists and works closely with binder operators and supervision to ensure applicable safety, job quality, bindery quality, customer quality and departmental production standards are met.
Ensures that the bindery office copy procedures are strictly adhered to.
Ability to work overtime as needed to meet customer and production schedules.
INCIDENTAL FUNCTIONS
Performs housekeeping, PM instruction, keeps machine and work area clean.
Any other job or job requested by department or plant supervision whether within or in another department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow written instructions
Possess basic math skills including comprehension of fractions
Ability to use measuring devices and small hand tools
Possess mechanical aptitude
Needs basic computer skills
Willingness to follow all safety policies and procedures.

Lifting - Up to 50 lbs.
Standing - Entire Shift
Bending/Reaching - Moderate
