PeopleSoft Administrator
in Cupertino, CA

"I worked on contract through Manutek and Spire."

What do you like about working at IBM?

"I liked the people I worked with and the technical nature of the job. I love working on PeopleSoft environments as it provides the intellectual challenge I need to stay interested."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Yes. Be clear. If you are working with an independent recruiter, if possible, make sure the management at IBM and not just the recruiter understand your skill set because if the recruiter over-sells you, you may be able to get in and do a good job anyway, but the employer may be disappointed at least initially even if you are extremely skilled in other areas and have a great attitude and work ethic. It's just the right way to be fair to your employer. Still, if you end up unable to communicate with management prior to starting, just do your best to do an excellent job regardless."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"I worked on contract, and that means that the job was temporary, and when they laid off the consultants, I was one of them."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep doing what you're doing. Danny Nguyen was an excellent manager."
