Happiest Cities for Young Professionals -- CareerBliss

Posted April 26, 2013

Our friends over at Forbes recently asked us to figure out which cities have the happiest young professionals. So we immediately dove into the deep end of our employee happiness data pool to come up with a list.

For our purposes here, a young professional is someone with less than 10 years' experience in a full-time job. The list is based on surveys completed by employees over the last 12 months. BlissScores are on a scale of 1 to 5. (Check out the full methodology below).

Methodology:

CareerBliss data evaluates the key factors that affect work happiness including: work-life balance, one's relationship with his/her boss and co-workers, work environment, job resources, compensation, growth opportunities, company culture, company reputation, daily tasks and job control over work performed on a daily basis. The data accounts for how an employee values each factor. Each review is given an average score indicating where the company places between one and five. The following data was compiled from more than 45 thousand independent company reviews from April 2012- March 2013. A minimum of 40 reviews per job title was required for this data. A young professional is defined as someone with less than ten years experience.
