Westerville, Ohio, became the established headquarters for operations in the Americas in 1992. Deutsche Post DHL purchased Exel in 2005 and currently remains the whole owner of the company. The Ohio location continues as headquarters for North and South American operations.

Exel performs as a supply chain manager. The company provides solutions ranging from the design and implementation of a supply chain to reverse logistics. Services include warehousing and movement of goods. Approximately 40,000 associates in Canada, the United States and Latin America perform the daily operations and support functions of Exel Logistics.
