The hotel should change Names or Chain since most guest think that Days Inn is a Motel Type of lodging. This hotel was far from a Motel with it's 12 floors, full service Resturant and Banquet Hall. The Resturant should be done in a Carribean Latino theme to not only cater to the locals ( Birthdays, Christenings, weddings, etc...) but to give the guest a taste of the neighbor hood. The is a large population of Cuban, Puerto Rician and Domenican in the area. Create a Reservations / PBX Department since the Front Desk handled those duties which takes away from taking care of the guests. This could could be done during high season. Provide better healthcare coverage or Pay more than 49% of premiums. Provide a 401K or an IRA plan with a Matching percentage program. Yearly raises should be given to keep employees happy even if it was only a cost of living raise.
3.2I worked for Days Inn for 6 months after It was purchased by a new owner who let everyone go except me. Soon as the winter season started he let me go and I have not been back since. I chose to spend my time studying and diving into my work.
