California State University Sacramento (Sacramento State) is a public university in the heart of California's Central Valley. The university enrolls 28,000 students each year, offering 58 undergraduate majors, 41 master's programs and two doctoral programs. The university plans to begin its physical therapy doctoral program in 2013.

Established in 1947 as Sacramento State College, the university's 300-acre campus houses 30 research centers and institutes. Several of the university's programs earn national recognition from U.S. News and World Report "best colleges" and "best graduate programs" lists, including its public affairs, physical therapy, speech-language pathology and nursing programs. In 2012, Forbes listed the university's Capitol Fellows internship program as one of the country's top 10.
