"The hardest part about being a camp counselor is selflessly serving 24 hours, 6 days a week for 6 weeks. That means you only get 6 days off. It's very tiring, but so rewarding. I love getting to know others from different backgrounds but on the same mission as me. Teamwork makes the dream work!"
"Being a Cabin Counselor is a fun and challenging job at the same time. It was my responsibility to make sure that my campers had a great summer experience just like I had when I was a camper. Working with a small shack full of kids certainly has its challenges as not everyone wants to get along or play nice, but with persistence and understanding it was always a pleasure to share the same excellent camping experiences that I used to have."
"I love working with kids. They are our future. And helping these children get out of their homes and into a different atmosphere is gratifying. With that said the one thing I'll say I hated was the overwhelmingly long hours. Though it is a summer camp. So just have to pull up your boot straps and enjoy."

What do you like about working at El Paso?
"I enjoyed working at the Administrative Level with a Team of Professionals working towards a common goal. I also liked the ability to make decisions, train others, and being in charge of certain committees. I enjoyed being valued, and respected in my job. I also enjoyed helping others and working in a positive, fun and always changing environment."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I would suggest knowing yourself and making sure you have done your research about what your career goals consist of. Making sure you have effective written and speaking skills. Lastly, that you are ready for an Executive/Management Position."
What don't you like about working at El Paso?
"I really didn't have anything I didn't like about working for El Paso Independent School District. It was a great experience, and great company to work for. I was trained thoroughly and always had support from my colleagues."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would probably suggest to listen and observe the needs of the employees, and organization. Always look for new and creative ways to create positive change. Also, train your employees thoroughly and be openly available for them. Lastly, be a leader and a professional at all times."

"Increasing my skills for other positions. The interations with management, co-workers, scouts and parents."

"Enjoy the opportunity to learn as many skills as you can. The atmosphere is very pleasent and can be rewarding to see the faces of success on some scouts."

"Most of it is a seasonal job expect when they have programs. Quite a drive for me to do."

"They need to listen to their staff more and listen to their ideas and thoughts."

"helping children, teaching, counseling, co-workers are helpful, vacation days are plenty"

"always micromanaged, not able to do my actual job because of other pressures put upon me"

"listen to employee concerns, stop trying to make everything exactly fair, not micromanage"

"Don't count on getting the job unless you have a connection. Many jobs postings have people already assigned to them. Posting the job is just a requirement."

"My supervisor is a control freak and has created a very hostile work environment."
