What do you like about working at Qualcomm?
It's slightly better than not having a job
What don't you like about working at Qualcomm?
High level of pressure to meet unrealistic deadlines. HR and tech managers frequently use intimidation to get what they want Performance reviews are not fair. Tech managers often lie about performance and do not give credit for work performed Very long hours are expected, with no extra $$$ appreciation. Tech managers are not properly trained as managers HR usually sides against employees in disputes. Little to no collaboration within teams or across company Documentation is extremely poor, Difficult to find technical experts to help with issues Once experts found, they often don't respond quickly to email or requests for help, or they simply cannot communicate Code is poorly documented Many development processes and procedures are undocumented Examples include software version control, defect management, hardware registers, and loading/booting systems The level of technical debt is staggering
What suggestions do you have for management?
Fire blatantly incompetent tech leads Fire engineers who can't document their work or their code, and those who can't or don't communicate Fire HR insensitive HR personnel Direct reports need the ability to review their managers as part of reviews Require all HR and management staff to take sensitivity training Require prospective managers to take management training Hire a few more technical writers Many $millions are being wasted as engineers reinvent the wheel learning how to get each platform to work (due to poor or non-existent documentation). There should be clear documentation showing how to get software loaded and running on each hardware platform Development processes need to be documented

Working attitude, growing opportunities, politics, micromanagement, barely any true N.American working it is difficult to blend in unless you are South Asian immigrants. They like to talk in their own language and you feel out group
What suggestions do you have for management?
All of them should re-do a technical interview like what all their engineers did to ensure they are good enough to manage their engineers. Also, please allow freedom to think of new ideas, and pls, roll your sleeve and work instead of TALK/Meetings.

What do you like about working at Qualcomm?
The staff at NSTL was great. The leads were respected as they did give respect back. It felt like a second home while i was employed there
What don't you like about working at Qualcomm?
The company began training staff in India and moved our operations there so people like me could be laid off. They do this because people in other countries will do the same work infinitely cheaper. Now just think about the Quality Assurance. I have recently found cancelling errors in applications this department was responsible for testing. (ex.) VZ Navigator.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Please keep the workers you have now because obviously they went to school to land a job like that. Don't smash their dreams and drowned them in debt.
