What do you like about working at Kraft Foods?
Very collegial atmosphere/people, 2-year rotation program, interesting projects, comfortable offices with lots of amenities (company store, fitness center, exterior paths, etc.)
What don't you like about working at Kraft Foods?
Inconvenient location (far suburbs, expensive, distant from metropolitan center and attractions)
What suggestions do you have for management?
More mass transportation access options, greater focus on sustainability and social responsibility (natural ingredients, healthier choices, carbon neutrality, philanthropy at corporate and employee levels, work-from-home opportunities)
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
Be yourself! I was given an offer after asking the interviewer questions, not generically about brand strategies, but about his Peace Corps experience and motivations.

What don't you like about working at Kraft Foods?
Company doesnot care that you have life after work. Especially since the Kraft Sales Force and Nabisco sales force uses the Nabisco sales Strategy of DSD sales. Your hours of work per week is minimum 72 as compared to Kelleggs reps 45 and there reps make more money
What suggestions do you have for management?
Structure your sales force like kelleggos, hire more part time and full time Merchandizers easy the burden on your sales reps let them have a balance between work/family

Know the company History, prepare for the STAR questions, give examples of how you were hands on

What do you like about working at Kraft Foods?
It's a horrible place for a sales rep. They make you get on your knees merchandising all days with barely any time for lunch. What a nightmare, and all for a measly salary!

Please stay away if you have any self-esteem. Look at pharmaceutical sales instead. The pay will be much better and you won't have to be on your knees merchandising cookies and crackers.

What do you like about working at Kraft Foods?
The pay was excellent and the work environment was encouraging. Employees have a general idea of what their expectations are for the day. I love the competition and how we all do our best to achieve it.
What don't you like about working at Kraft Foods?
I hate the favoritism by management to Latino employees. The management would favor other employees according to their race not so much according to their qualifications and experience.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Common sense, fairness, good judgement and to know that it is not personal, it is and should always be professional.

I liked working with the people. Most had been there as long as I was so it was like family

Beig micro-managed. Clear direction and the ability to do my job is what I look for.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Be a manager. Let your people do their jobs. Coach them when they are stuck. Give them the direction they need and then let them do the job.

Kraft was a good place, however upper management may not have the clear goals needed to ensure a factory succeeds. Plant management may have the direction, but may have their hands tied with pressure from corparate management.

What do you like about working at Kraft Foods?
Kraft headquarters is an awesome facility. I liked learing a different aspect of project accounting which was facility management.
What don't you like about working at Kraft Foods?
Being a contractor at Kraft and an employer to Grubb & Ellis made pleasing both sides difficult as communication between upper managment seem to constantly involve a power struggle of some sort.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Create better lines of communication between upper management of both companies and hold montly meetings with mid-management staff.

Giving my heart and sole, and seeing great employees being tossed out for short term stock gains.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Value your employees. Stop out sourcing, and make the employees feel part of the family. You ARE a great company, but your current employees are tired of looking over their shoulder, not knowing if the are the next to go.

Give a 100%. Kraft is a great company. I would go back in and instant. I loved every minute.

The established nature of Kraft Foods - in that it's not a company destined to be out of business during my lifetime. That's security. But moreover, it's a company that values the entrepreneurial spirit.

Sometimes it takes too long - and too many minds - to come to a decision.

Focus more on growing marketing talent rather than developing "home grown" managers.

It was a great company 1 year ago. Great development opportunity.

After about 16 years of service the cost of living raises got smaller and direct reports were soon making several thousand more per year than I was being paid
What suggestions do you have for management?
Quit trying to cheat you salaried staff of compensation. There are so many restrictions on advancement that is is nearly impossible to make a good salary.
