Hitachi Review by Senior Accountant in Brisbane, CA on
What do you like about working at Hitachi?
The company is VERY cutting edge! They're big on research & development, they do pay well (although the bennies are only average), and they do reward loyalty (but to be 'rewarded' you gotta pay your dues, and that involves long hours, commitment, & never, ever speaking out or voicing an opinion!
What don't you like about working at Hitachi?
Obviously the culture! They expect AND demand 110% devotion to Hitachi & to your job, forget about having a family life! (honestly!, the men there must have a divorce rate of 90%!), and the way they look down on women & blacks.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Don't be afraid of diversity! Allow your employees to have family lives! Don't expect or demand that! - every employee embrace Hitachi's personal & professional values, work & lifestyles, and personal & professional 'priorities'. And be more tolerant of other, even non-conformist, lifestyles, viewpoints & values.

If you can handle the bureaucracy within the company, go for it! It is a great starting position for a field service engineer. Do no plan on moving up the ladder to quickly if at all. If you like to work with you hands and like to trouble shoot, then this job is perfect for you!
