What do you like about working at Bristol-Myers Squibb?
Allowed me to gain experience that I was able to utilize elsewhere
What don't you like about working at Bristol-Myers Squibb?
Very upward mobility. Constantly restructuring. Didn't treat employees that well. Human resources was not helpful resource for employees. Management didn't seem to know what was going on there departments. Management didn't seem to care about their workers. Management would say one thing and do another. Very poor employee review program. Very poor layoff policy.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Management needs to learn how to manage effectively, comunicate directly, and say what the really mean instead of what they think the employee would like to hear.
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
I would look elsewhere if you have the chance. If you are set on Bristol then you ought to be able to impress them by talking vaguely about "core values" such as leadership and communicating directly. Talking about such values might get you a position, but don't expect management to uphold these standards if you do get a position.

What do you like about working at Bristol-Myers Squibb?
The people. They were extremely intelligent and fun to work with. I had a lot of responsibility and appreciated my manager's belief in my abilities.
What don't you like about working at Bristol-Myers Squibb?
There were a lot of late nights and 3 am press checks that could have been avoided with more communication and cooperation from senior management.
What suggestions do you have for management?
It's too late now, but I wished they wouldn't have sold off the consumer products, nutritional, and medical device divisions. Diversity was key in keeping the company in the top five pharmaceutical companies category.
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
yes, I would ask their opinion on opportunities for career advancement. HR may respond one way, but the department you are applying to may give you a different response.

Learning about the manufacturing of antibiotics and injectables and all the phases of producing a medicine

The location of the company was very far from the city so I had to travel for an hour each way and that was inconvenient.

Management should maintain and expand the vast learning opportunities offered by the different levels of production.
