What do you like about working at BASF?
In the manufacturing areas I was in (4 different ones) the average workers and front line managers were well above average.
What don't you like about working at BASF?
A German culture where it is dificult to admit to problems, when you do not have a solution yet, was ok because their technical people were very driven and resourcefull. This was warped in America to, the managers creating problems they could resolve, to make themselves look needed, and to marginalize many of the technically competant.
What suggestions do you have for management?
360 degree reviews, and pay for performance. These were both attempted, and quickly abandoned, because of the truth it brought to the light.
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
Good company, good products. But if you don't enjoy politics, make sure your manager is "aware", or your department could be the next scapegoat.

What do you like about working at BASF?
Growth opportunities and the stability of a large corporation before the economic downfall.
What don't you like about working at BASF?
The difficult transition between different businesses. All-in-all BASF was very good to me! I would love to work for the organization again.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Learn and understand the diverse genius within everyone beyond the superficial titles. Every employee has multiple talents that translates to profits and organization development.
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
Be yourself and show the diversity of skills and wealth of knowledge including how such talents translates to buisness improvement and profits for the organization. Show your team player attitude and individual leadership qualities.

What do you like about working at BASF?
The opportunity to work with people who cared about their work and the opportunity to go back to school.
What don't you like about working at BASF?
The fact that I had to lie about physical test results in order to gain business for the company.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Set examples and lead by example. Don't just sit back and wait for the business to come to you. Take responsibility for your actions and stop trying to pin the results on the workers all the time.
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
Always communicate with your managers and fellow workers. I decided to re-send this because I like BASF and the people who work there.

Have a long term goal for growth, Systems and procedures, 100% execution, a absolute sense of urgency, perfect paint every time, and goals for job growth.

The Management didnt support buying current engineering equipment, supllies, reference materials, and seminars

If you are interviewing for the civil/structural engineering position, Be very specific on your experience and what you have knowledge in.

The company has the resources to support product development programs.
What don't you like about working at BASF?
At the time that I worked there, employees with Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degrees were at a disadvantage for career advancement when compared to PhD Chemists.
What suggestions do you have for management?
Consider a wider variety of educational backgrounds for career advancement opportunities.

Proximity to my house.
What don't you like about working at BASF?
The company keeps wages down as best they can. The SAP planning at the site is antiquated and input by under qualified individuals
What suggestions do you have for management?
Consider the craft and contract individuals as necessary tools not drains on the budget coming over from Germany

Be willing to take a pay cut and hopefully you live close by

What do you like about working at BASF?
They provide a very comfortable environment to work in and great oportunities for advancemenet. But the Auto Industry is hot and cold and after survive 4 lay offs, I was hit with the fifth.
What don't you like about working at BASF?
BASF is a good company to work for but I wish I was in a different division then the Automotive Coatings.

Stop bringing Ex-Pats from outside the Pharmaceutical profession and allow Americans to advance. Operate ethically, do not continue to hide illegal activities from the US market.
