"Was a great first job right before going off to college, gave you some sales experience."

"I have been working at Abercrombie & Fitch as a Java Developer for the past year. The salary and benefits package is competitive, but there is a lack of career growth opportunities. The company culture is inclusive, but there is a lack of collaboration between teams, and the management can be slow to make decisions. However, the work-life balance is good, and the team is supportive."

"Abercrombie and Fitch is a great company to get started with in management. Abercrombie provides a detailed learning program called their Manager in Training program. The company basically only promotes from within so it allows you to get promoted quickly. My only cons to say would be to maintain your work life balance as you can find it diminish (long hours, holiday work, weekend work). Also the company can be somewhat cliquey, so if your boss isn't your friend, it may be time to look for another job."

"Abercrombie and Fitch is a fantastic company to start your career. I have been here for the past two years and it saddens me to leave them, but I know I am ready to move onto something new. The people here are some of the kindest and smartest people I have met. They were so friendly and truly the reason I enjoyed coming to work every day. The work is fast-paced and challenging, but highly rewarding. I recommend anyone interested in retail and IT to apply to A&F"

"Abercrombie and Fitch has been quite a different experience than I had envisioned. Truthfully, management was respectful and understanding of my situation at the time I was hired. However, after my first week on the job, I felt unwelcomed. The atmosphere alone is not welcoming and management is rude. We recently got a new manager who has not made a good impression on my peers. He, too, tends to be rude and critical. The need to meet company standards as an employee is understandable, however developing a good work environment in which everyone is comfortable is also necessary."

"I've worked for Abercrombie and Fitch for the past 2.5 years and it has been an overall great experience. The company culture and the environment has been very uplifting and allowed me to be myself. I wouldn't trade anything for the relationships I've had with my regular customers that would come often, or with my managers and coworkers as well."

"I worked at Abercrombie for about 7 months up until our store closed. I loved my managers and the people I worked for, it is a young atmosphere so it is easy to make friends since everyone is in college or recently graduated. However, anyone above a store manager is horrible. I mean seriously, they hire the rudest and cruelest district managers. Our DM called a worker trashy to her face. It is a laid-back atmosphere and mind-less job."

"DM pay is WAY below industry standards. Has seven stores, only made $55k. Perks were cool but for level of responsibility, pay was horrific."

"I've worked at A&F for a little over a year. It is a challenging place for the wrong reasons. There are many inexperienced, young people in decision making roles, which causes a number of problems. It is a place that puts an emphasis on the wrong things from a product, marketing and people stand point. That being said, I still believe that the brand could become popular again, but it would take massive changes through the organization; something I do not see happening."
