The City of New York is the largest and most populous city in the United States. Incorporated as a city in 1898, New York’s current population exceeds 8,244,910. Since the city was incorporated, New York has been known as the worldwide center for industry, commerce, finance, media, arts, fashion, education and entertainment.

The city is widely known for its diverse culture, entertainment and financial and historical landmarks. Some of these landmarks include Wall Street, The Statue of Liberty, the United Nations, Broadway and Ellis Island. New York is currently ranked first from among one hundred-twenty cities around the world for business and tourism.
