It is a large company, so you can expect a decent benefits package and an established set of policies and procedures that are regularly updated by various levels of management, legal, and HR. Due to the structure of the company, there are times when certain decisions and promotions may be delayed, as the decision has to be approved by a number of people within the chain of command. One downside is that, as a lower-level employee, your work is less likely to be recognized or rewarded and more likely to become a positive evaluation of your department managers."

"The company and department are well suited to employees with a strong focus. Employees with broad skillsets will feel challenged and sometimes unfulfilled."

"Narrow focus of job; lack of communication between departments on shared areas of responsibility, resulting in duplication of effort and process."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Encourage department managers to establish open communication between department teams where common goals and technologies exist."

"The team atmosphere that existed before the bankruptcy, compensation is slightly above average."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Research the management of the department you are interviewing for. If you don't come from the same company as them, don't waste your time. With a complete, top-down management change, there is no longer any loyalty to the rank & file."

What don't you like about working at CIT Group?

"New departmental management has no respect for the people that were faithful through the difficult years and no desire to listen to anyone they did not bring on board themselves."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Look at how the new department heads are compromising the company values and losing the historical knowledge by their contempt for the staff, especially in IT."
