There was a constant list of things that needed to be done, it was never a dull moment. They always tried to provide training for what was expected of you. I say tried.

If someone else was slacking on your project you had to pick it up. Don't expect management to pick up on it. They just want it done. So choose your team very carefully.

Pay attention to who is doing what. Don't listen to the noise; pay attention. Employees are known to 'embellish' what they did. The people you don't hear from are too busy to tell you about everything they did.

The hardest workers aren't always rewarded.

They love acronyms; so make sure your up on them. Even is you don't know them. Your manager won't know them...

I did like the work but over the last few years the company has been changing and now its just another big company to collect a check from.

Go back to what the company was 8 years ago.

Used to be a great place but now wants all kids and is removing the experience.

Don't view Cisco as a career choice as they do not want people to stay there forever anymore. When I first started they always said that they wanted people to retire from Cisco but now they are removing those long time workers and replacing them with younger ones. The culture has changed a lot in the time I have been there. Its too bad as it used to be a great place to work.

The community was really great and everyone was so friendly. I enjoyed what I did and I was very motivated to do my work.

They took away our free drinks in my second internship. There really was no reason to dislike Cisco.

None really. I felt the management within Cisco was very responsible and responsive. I liked working for them a lot.

I feel that they're looking for people who enjoy what they do. There's no real 'secret' to interviewing. Just be yourself and be someone that can work with people.

Most of the engineering staff is very experienced and are great people to work with.

Focus on adaptability. Job responsibilities and organizational structure can change very quickly.

work culture, ownership of work & great people. very nice leadership and very cool atmosphere.

less resources and very little help. they expect you to settle on your own and be productive from the first day.

prepare well, company worth the effort. there are many events happen now and then so balanced atmosphere.

If you're lucky enough to be on a good team, then the work can be challenging and interesting, the catch is that if that team is an acquired start-up, the good guys will earn out and leave.

The promotion cycle in this company is highly regulated, make sure you have a good manager to report to, and that you join at the right level

Politics is what I don't like because that looses the focus

Cisco is probably the best run company I have ever interacted with. I doubt that I could provide any useful suggestions.

Know your stuff: The technical interviews are... rigorous and exhaustive.

I like the relaxed environment, Various opportunities that we get, and relative stability of the company.
