"I'm just a student worker at good ole CMU, so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. As a student worker, the rules are a bit more relaxed about how we work and have very flexible schedules. The downside is that we can only work limited hours (20/week at most) and have some many restrictions, that it gets frustrating to get work done. Especially after working there for almost 2 years. They also only pay $10 an hour for about all student jobs, so if you have a difficult job, you will get paid the same amount as the person who stands there all day and does nothing."

"All my supervisors are so amazing"

"The university is a very good place to work and my supervisor is like my mentor. He is very open to ideas as we work mostly on the research projects."
"I have done news anchoring and sports anchoring at Central Michigan for the past two years. Not only did I read the news but I also wrote most of the stories of the shows I would write for. I write for the teleprompter so all my stories had to be approved before we shot the shows. When we would hold auditions for new talent. My director used my stories as the samples for the talent to read."
"Working at IHBI was a highly rewarding experience. I gained a lot of data science based knowledge and experience. I was in charge of the ETL side of things, so being able to work on and manage a highly distributed Greenplum database supercomputer was a privilege. IHBI has a very open culture which really helps those with a desire to learn. I would recommend working at this non-profit."
"I have worked for CMU in multiple positions for the past 5 years. It has truly been an amazing place to work. While the pay wasn't great (I was an undergraduate and now a graduate research assistant) I take great stock in the relationships I've built, the knowledge I have acquired and the experience I have earned."
"I had a good relationship with all the professors I worked with and studied under."
"I have worked for the department of business information system and department of management for 2.5 years. I enjoyed my work with my professors. My supervisor said I have strong work ethic and am dedicated to success. I am never late submitting my works to my professors and received a very good evaluation at the end of semester from them."
"I worked as student employee in this office for 9 months. My supervisor is an excellent and supporting person. She gives a lot of importance to the employees concerns and issues. She encourages innovative thinking and new implementations in the work, she is open for discussions all the time and is easily approachable all the time."
