What do you like about working at Centex?

"As a construction manager, having never been in that position before, there was constant management training. I also learned a lot from my immediate supervisor."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This company is closed down also although are still selling inventory. Otherwise I would say - be prepared as it will be the most extensive interview you will ever have."

What don't you like about working at Centex?

"This was without a doubt the most politically oriented corporation I have ever worked for. It seemed people were trying so hard to be buddies with upper management your accomplishments didn't seem as important as they should."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The only problem that I could see for this management was the political Dog eat dog atmosphere."

"They left me alone to do my work and figure most of it out for myself"

"none That I care to share. some are good some were really bad."

"No longer here in TN. They no longer do residential homes."

"The money, and benifits. The learning experience was great also."

"It's not what or where I really want to be or do."

"Nothing really at all. Maybe try not cutting hours so much."

"be up front, make sure you understand waht it is like to work for a public company"

"being a public company you get lost in the amount of employees"

"listen to top management and practice what you preach. need more buy in discussions"

"the merger with Pulte was a tailspin for most of the employees"

"I enjoyed the business of home building, getting out to the field to see neighborhoods being built."

"Ask targeted questions as to the core job responsibilities and clarify what support is provided for gaps with experience."

What don't you like about working at Centex?

"The location was not right for my family. The DP was a former controller who had difficulty letting go of the finance responsibilities."

"Make a better effort to define expectations and more focus on training and mentoring employees"

"The company has been bought by Pulte Homes and so I do not know what it is like now."

"Very large company and sometimes it loses focus on the basics"

"The company should of never sold to Pulte Homes as it was good the way it was."
