"Horrible company, to work for, to do business with, just to exist. Expect to work on call 24/7/365 for the first 10 years of your career if not longer. Your allowed limited time off due to the super strict attendance policy. There the only job I’ve ever heard of you is trying to fire you the day after they hire you. The job always hasn’t been so bad, but every year they find a way to crush your soul. Go be a plumber, electrician, heavy equipment operator, you’ll be a lot happier and a lot richer. There is a reason there offering a $5000 hiring bonus. Because no one wants to work for such a horrible company. The only people who are still there are the ones who’ve worked there to long and don’t have the job skills to “go any place else at my age”. Be smarter, don’t get hired in the first place. All the nice reviews are from corporate people"
"Great company! They invest in people development, much career mobility, stable industry, great people. The tuition program is very generous and advanced education is encouraged."
"I have worked at BNSF for more than 20years. This used to be a good job! They don’t care about employees. All they care about is $$. Most people are tired of the abuse. It has become a fuel savings company. They run trains in 3 gear to save fuel. So you spend more time away from home so they can save fuel. On the road after 12 hrs you are working for free. If you take this job you are working for the devil! Please choose a different industry. They want to go one man crew or no man crew on trains."
"BNSF railway is a company that searches out engineering graduates, not for engineering, but for low level management and supervisor roles. While this presents an opportunity for young engineers to gain skills they did not get in their education, it comes at the price of absolutely no work life balance and a toxic relationship between field employees and company leadership and managers. The one year retention rate of new hires at BNSF is abysmal. Retired military often hire out with BNSF and even their retention rates are terrible. It worked for me but it's not for most. To add insult to injury, many current employees hired on with the promise of a pension which BNSF revoked in 2019."
"BNSF is a Transportation company serving the western half of the United States. They deliver bulk freight to companies that keep our country alive and running."

"Stable and progressive company with long-term growth focus"
"A good place to start your career."
"Great company to work for, really great benefits, people are generally great leadership at the lower levels is awesome, it felt at times the upper executive leadership was disconnected. Had a great 15-year run here, lots of opportunities for growth but you have to make them happen."
"I'm working from 5 years at BNSF railway. The BNSF Railway is the second-largest freight railroad network in North America, and is one of seven North American Class I railroads. It has three transcontinental routes that provide high-speed links between the western and eastern United States. BNSF trains traveled over 169 million miles in 2016, more than any other North American railroad."
"I have spent the last two years working for BNSF Railway traveling all over the country installing signal systems. I love the safe work environment and all the thought that goes into our projects. This company employees 40 thousand people and it is a great place to work!"
"I am contractor there and enjoyed every task"
"Horrible place to work for. the people are harassing and always trying to stab you in the back and make you do their work you are not trained to do force you to work 16 hour days everyday no days off tell you when you can use your vacation and run down."
"Been working with bnsf for 8 years now. Never met an employer that wants to hire then try to fire you. It’s a shame this company doesn’t take better care of there employees."
