"Worked over 30 years for Black Box. The last 5 years were terrible. Acquisition and new management were very toxic and created a combative/look over your shoulder environment. No raise in years. This company does not respect its employees, especially the tenured employees. Process changes in the way you are expected to do your job are changing constantly. Glad to be gone which was my decision."

There are 3 categories of people at Black Box: The greedy management and CEO's, the brown-nosers who advance because they are friends of friends, and the low paid, hard working grunts who actually make the company money. The place needs an enema of MGT, get rid of the buddy system, stop rewarding the people driving the BMW's and reward the loyal, lower paid employees."

"Great benefits. If you are in a busy area they will run you ragged, but if you can find a stable position overall good place to work. Be ready to move on if business slows down."

"Very little opportunity for advancement. You pretty much stay within your hired position."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire trained people, not bodies. Get rid of those that can't use a keyboard when their job is to type."
