"I worked there for three years. It was great! I got to move around onto several different projects, learned a lot, and contributed a lot to the research. After 3 years I was laid off due to government cutbacks and I wanted to go back to school for my PhD anyway."

"Be prepared for an interview that lasts for several hours with different groups of people. In the IT group, I had to prepare a 30-minute PowerPoint presentation on a prior project."

"The fact that they do so much work for the government makes it painful when budgets contract and people get laid off."

"Maybe management should be pared down during layoffs also, not just the rank and file."

"I have to communte using priviate car or I had to ride a bus 140 miles daily"

"Beware; when cutbacks are on the horizon it is difficult to get work done because no one wants to make a mistake during a reduction in force."

"The politics with upper management was difficult to navigate and the company touted a certain culture but did not live by it themselves."

"Get to know your people working where the rubber meets the road and you will find out more of what is going on."

"short term contracts can create too much stress and become counter productive"

"Absolute control of lower managment. Very little support to members that wanted to be involved in vol orgainzations."

"Too many layer of oxygen thiefs. Have managers that manage projects and be allowed to manage the peolpe too. Conflicts between Office manager and project manager, with the Office manager always allowed to trump the project manager leardership. ."
