"Hickmans IGA is a good company to work for. They are very down to earth owners. They do take family into consideration."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"No tips. This is a good company to work for if you are not looking for a long term career."
What don't you like about working at Hickman's IGA?
"I don't like that IGA doesn't have any retirement plans for their employees. Nor do they offer any dental or life insurance."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"We need more meetings for the management team, and also to pay more attention to departments when that manager isn't there."

"Building relationships with customers and associates was always special to me."

"Buy into the system. The system and attitude will accomplish everything"

"Open communications, more lines and/or make it easier for ideas to get from corporate to the front lines."
What don't you like about working at Ingles Markets?
"Wasn't enough hours for employees, as a manager of the bakery, only allowed 118, hours included manager hours."

"In management, the sacrafices of family time during the holidays."

"Although it's a business, remember that your employees are human and have lives outside of the workplace."

"Great company to work for . Learned alot of merchandising and how to increase sales."

"Some employees were willing to help you succeed."

"Upper management was not very supportive, they seemed only interested in keeping their jobs."

"Support middle management. Give them ideas to help them grow in their position."
