"The management does not spend money on improvements, does not really understand how the internal business operates and is generally aloof."

"It's a government contracting company and you don't know how long your employment will last."

"The HR department needs to Improve it's employee job placement for program end of life."

"Out local personnel are good people, dedicated to our team success and our customers. We have interesting work."

"Understand the actual job you will do. Don't come here for the benefits; they stink and are getting worse."

What don't you like about working at BAE Systems?

"Corporate management has no clue what our business is about. There is no input from division-level or lower management. They run our services-oreinted business (which accounts for about 1/2 the company revenue) like a hardware manufacturing plant, but with totally outdated tools. Corporate management has no concept of customer focus. Corporate management has no concept of employee priorities and morale."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Develop a basic understanding of our service business or sell off the division to a company that gets it. Delegate more authority away from headquarters to the divisions and program managers. Forget this Great Places to Work initiative until you have figured out how to make it an ok place to work."

What do you like about working at BAE Systems?

"Our particular division has long standing government contracts that we continue to win. There is a lot of pride in what we do."

"There are many people who work for this company for a long long time...it has longevity, but it's bare bones in terms of any sort of benefits or extras."

What don't you like about working at BAE Systems?

"Our benefits continue to get cut year after year, after 8 years of service I lost a week of pto last year and our health insurance costs doubled. I haven't had a raise in at least 3 years, possibly longer. There are no perks whatsoever; employees buy their own coffee."

"Hearing year after year be happy you have a job does not a happy employee make."

"the mamangement was very inconsistent and had problems they needed to fix"

"get there ducks in a row before making decisions that ruin lives"

"No comments for interviewing. The process if fairly straight forward."

"BAE tends to put people in positions they should not be in. So far the manangers I've come across are all wrong for the job and are costing the company money, employees, and lots of wasted time. A simple business course would explain their professional ineptness."

"Stop putting tech's that show no management capabilities in charge of making business decisions and management spots. Stop putting friends in these spots. Hire business managers with business degrees strictly to handle the business."

"They could have garnered more contracts so I would still be working for them."
