"Be extremely careful where and who you work for. If you hook up with managers that will be genuine, value your hard work, and help you reach your goals in the company."

"Archstone has neglected employees that are managed by bad property managers and their assistants. There are alot of very unhappy employees that are seeking other companies, even if it means take a paycut, as long as they will be treated fairly and honestly."

"Archstone really needs to take a good look at who is happy at work, if not why. There are a few at this time that are seeking legal help because they feel they are not being treated fairly and are being denied opportunities that promised in the employee handbook. Regional managers are just as bad, they show so genuine care to the dispensible employees."

"The non-management peers I worked with were great - intelligent, dedicated to their jobs and really passionate about their work. It was refreshing to work with folks so happy about their jobs and how they mattered within the company."

"Watch your back if you get hired. Depending on your position and department, you'll likely get pitted against other employees to fight the battles going on between managers."

What don't you like about working at Archstone Apartments?

"Upper management was largely clueless - folks in positions that had no business being in that job - HR, IT, Benefits - people like that.Everything was punitive in nature - you couldn't just make a mistake, you had to be blamed and punished for it so someone else could feel superior."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Religion is nice, but leave your proselytizing at home - it's not for a publicly traded company, Mr. CFO. They need a thorough management review from upper level/senior execs down to front-line managers. Hiring friends into management roles doesn't always translate to a best practice, especially when your friend doesn't know what their doing."

"The employees are hardworking, dedicated individuals who take pride in themselves and their work. The organization offers many great training programs to all levels of employees. They empower the employees to make decisions that benefit the customer."

"Know that this company lives to serve their customers and many times your efforts, while appreciated, will go unnoticed by the customers. You should not consider a position with this organization if are looking to be the hero, it truly is a team organization."

"Not being able to please all the customers all the time. The company did not allow a bigger maintenance budget, therefore preventing the maintenance team to correctly and efficiently provide the best service to the customers."

"Take the time to assess the real needs of the staff on the frontlines and the needs of the customers. This would only improve an already successful organization."
