"I have worked for Amscot for 3 years now, I can't rave enough about this company. The pay is great, they promote from within and it doesn't matter how long you have worked for the company or who you know in the company. It is truly up to you and how far you want to go. They have a good benefits package, including vacation time. Even though my branch is one of over 200, we still feel we have a strong relationship to the corporate office."

"Little free time, no breaks, good wage, demanding, restrictive, frequent testing"

What do you like about working at Amscot Financial?

"The wage isdecent, but that is the only good thing about this employer"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Review your knowledge of math, there is a mathematics test."

What don't you like about working at Amscot Financial?

"As an employee, you can expect to be inside the glass bubble/cage that is the employee side of a branch location. These employees do not receive any breaks, and are not permitted to leave from behind the camera monitored glass until the end of their shift, which may be as long as 16 hours. An employee is effectively locked in behind the glass, and only a manager, which they call leaders has a key. Much like a prison, these employees are expected to obey an astounding array of policies, procedures, laws, and frequent testing for drugs, their background, credit rating, and knowledge of all that is Amscot. They will be tested for their knowledge of mathematics. Online job boards, such as Monster.com are monitored, and if an employee has a resume open or is serving for another job, they may be questioned about it, and why they are searching for another job. If a customer owes money, an employee is required to seize those funds when appropriate, often without the customers knowledge beforehand. Time to time, customers make death threats against you for taking their money. They are required to have cell phones and cars. The company does hire people who make the free choice to smoke cigarettes. They must have an open availability and are not permitted to have a second job. They are required to be able to work up to 26 miles from their home. Hygenie and personal appearance are closely monitored, and discussed with employees if there is a problem with hair style, hair color, breath, tattoos (cannot be visible), no colognes or perfumes, weight loss or gain, overall health or decision to see a doctor, variations on uniform, name badge, jewelry, etc. There is a policy and procedure for almost anything you can imagine. There is also something called required reading. The reading is books kept within the branch, and one book in particular is Christian based, although choice of another religion will be permitted, but maybe not encouraged. If an employee falls out of line they will be effectively dispatched without hesitation. This is considered to be one of the best companies to work for in Florida."

What suggestions do you have for management?
