"I started with StateFarm in 2011. The company used to be a very fun place to work. But recently the company has become a major numbers place. If your numbers aren't good enough you get fired. They are trying to cut costs but it is affecting company morale all over the enterprise."

"Where do I begin? I started with this company almost a year ago. During training I had very high hopes of doing well, although some of my fellow trainees were questionable individuals. I honestly felt like one of the few educated individuals in my training class. So sad. When starting the position as a claims associate, I at first gave it my best. Taking phone call after phone all while trying to measure up to impossible metrics. I eventually got to a point where I would visualize or pray to the universe before every call that it would be an easy one. I got to a point where I realized this is NOT normal and unhealthy. I had my fair share of phone calls where I wanted to yell at people and tell them they are complete idiots, especially the negative people who had the gall to yell at me for something I did NOT DO. Not worth anyone's time. SF does not care about their people. I know they have changed in the past 5 years or so, but where has it gotten them? Almost every week I would hear at least one policyholder say enough is enough... they are finding another insurance company. OK, fine, I don't blame them. All SF cares about are absurd call metrics and the tons of money the really higher-ups make. Please do not even attempt to work here. You will become so disillusioned and super critical as I have."

"I worked for this company 22 years. The last 3 years I've been yanked from job to job comic given very little training and I'm expected to spend six to seven days working because this company failed to adequately plan properly for their staffing needs. I am micromanaged from the minute I walk in. They're new eom model is great for factory workers but they are trying to implement in an environment that wants to stay in with the type of work that there is to do."

"One person (who shall remain unnamed) is single-handedly killing this company. He is running it into the ground all the while lining his pockets by letting go higher paid employees. Claim satisfaction rankings have plummeted. From top 5 in JD Powers to #21. Working here is a nightmare - the place is a sweatshop. It's all micro management and metrics - set impossible goals, whip the employees daily and tell them how poorly they are doing. If you see a positive rating in claims - it's a lie. The place is pure hell."

"This company is more concerned with brown nosing their way up the chain, than actually working. Some just point and click their computer mouse and send work back to get corrected, while those that do the work, get frowned upon. Very poor leadership. This company micromanages every single function. If you are a yes person, then you will like it. If you believe in ethics, values, proving yourself by working, you will not enjoy this company at all."

"If you do not have a 4 year degree, do not waste your time. People do work hard for a degree, but that does not make them a good employee. Too often, I watched tenured employees get passed over for a promotion, because they did not have that 4 year degree. They passed up some very good candidates!"

"State Farm is on a Eom system and a scheduling and forecasting system which makes it hard to schedule vacation even when you have the time. State Farm does not value their employees like they used to when I first started 5 years ago. Now like most other companies, State Farm is all about numbers. State Farm's hours of operations takes up all your time and takes you away from your family. They are trying to make people work on Sundays - they already have a Saturday shift. There is no work, life balance at this place."
