Working at Milestone Community Builders in Austin, TX: 1 Employee Reviews

Milestone Community Builders Employee

"Terrible experience * VP-Con dept is allowed to verbally and sexually harass both male and female employees alike * Complaints to HR go unaddressed and no repercussions happen despite this being a well known problem * There is nobody aside from HR to discuss these types of things with since it would VP who’d be in charge of addressing their own behavior * CEO clearly has either bad judgement on peoples character, or let’s outside friendships with leadership cause a “look the other way” approach to these very serious concerns * The harassment increases greatly when leadership imbibes during the day (which is apparently unknown, or not frowned upon) * Really terrible issue with honesty in this company. Example; assuring employees that there aren’t plans for layoffs or demotions in the near future, only to do just that two days before Christmas * This is a 24/7 job. To stay on schedule, you can’t just turn your phone or emails off on the weekends. This isn’t necessarily a con when homes are being sold and completion bonuses are rolling in, but for just base salary it’s a lot * Mediocrity is rewarded with promotions and better pay if part of the “inner circle”, even if someone else has better numbers, they won’t be given the same opportunities to grow with the company. The mass firings that took place in December made that even more evident. If it was a merit based system, the company would currently have a much different leadership team than it does, and would be better off for it. * Every negative review mentions the problems bleeding from the top, which is very accurate, but apparently a blind eye has been turned."
